What WAS new last month? ........January 2011 .........  What happened next?

Philadelphia Woodturning Vacation. Nancy & Mark finally made it up to Philadelphia for a weekend in December to visit the Woodturning Center and the Wharton Esherick Exhibition at the University of Pennsylvania. The Esherick Exhibit runs through February 13th (quite inspiring) and luckily, the Woodturning Center (which counts on donations to keep it's doors open) is open year round.
Woodturning Elves Finish a Busy Holiday Season. Thanks to all of you who chose to do your holiday shopping locally this year. In addition to some gift certificates to woodturning classes, Mark's bowls, platters, wooden kitchen utensils and this custom tea cup shelf ended up under someone's tree. Click the photos for a better look.

Woodturning with Your Child. January 2nd was the winter session of Woodturning with Your Child. Six children teamed up with a woodturning adult in their lives to make honey dippers, miniature baseball bats and crab mallets. Watch our website for the next class coming in June. Early Birds Catch the Woodshavings. You had to get up pretty early on January 3rd to catch Mark on Fox 45 News, but the cameraman and Woodworking Show marketers from Himmelrich Public Relations were in the shop at 5:30 AM to film Mark making shavings.

Mark Supik Woodturning Workshops had a great weekend at The Woodworking Show in Timonium last month. Mark, John, Joe & Danielle took turns demonstrating on the Oliver lathe over the three day show. Our raffle winner this year was Clyde Miller of Carroll County, MD. He won a free woodworking workshop at Mark Supik Woodturning. Congratulations, Clyde!
