Our fall class schedule is filling up. For some time we have wanted a physical version of our catalog of beer taphandle shapes. Thanks to the new space we are able to make that happen. If you’re looking for the perfect handle for your brewery you’ll be able to stop in at 1200 N. Macon Street and check out our selection in person. You can find descriptions of each of these shapes in our on-line catalog. We have plenty of samples of these handles labeled and silk screened in our museum. Seven experienced bowl turners from the Baltimore Area Turners joined Mark & Nancy in the shop last weekend for a two day workshop on turning a bowl with a natural edge. It was a hot, August in Baltimore weekend, but with plenty of fans, cold water and breaks, we all survived. The bowl turning was challenging, frustrating (at times), but in the end rewarding. Congratulations to turners Ron Ford, Joe Heinlein, Chuck Cohen, Gynene Sullivan, Thomas Szarek & Ed Cohen for surviving the heat and crafting some beautiful bowls.
We've always wanted to make duckpin bowling pin handle and Union Craft Brewing here in Baltimore gave us the perfect excuse to do so. It was a fun handle to make. Wondering how we make that perfect red stripe? Click on the bowling pin to watch our video.
A two day festival at the Howard County Fairgrounds celebrating fiber arts. Mark will be there both days demonstrating woodturning fiber arts tools (nostepinnes, darning eggs and spindles) while Danielle and friends demonstrate how to use them. We'll also be selling turned tools, wooden buttons, fiber project bags, crochet hooks, cutting boards, rolling pins, garden dibbles and wooden bowls.
